This 12-day Georgia tour is designed for travelers who want to combine Georgia’s historic cities, wine culture, Greater Caucasus landscapes, remote mountain communities and western Georgia’s natural attractions in one private itinerary. Starting and ending in Tbilisi, the route includes Kakheti, Mtskheta, Gori, Uplistsikhe, Kazbegi, Chiatura, Kutaisi, Mestia, Ushguli, Martvili Canyon and Prometheus Cave. Private airport transfers, transportation, a certified guide, selected entrance fees, wine tastings, cable car rides and the listed 4WD services are included.
The journey begins in Tbilisi with a private airport transfer, followed on Day 2 by a guided walking tour through the historic center. You will explore Old Tbilisi and see landmarks such as Metekhi, Europe Square, Rike Park, the Bridge of Peace, Anchiskhati Basilica, Sioni Cathedral, Narikala Fortress and Mother of Georgia.
Day 3 introduces Kakheti, Georgia’s best-known wine region. The route passes through Badiauri and continues to Bodbe and Sighnaghi, with views across the Alazani Valley. The wine program includes a local family winery with three tastings and KTW Winery with five tastings before you return to Tbilisi.
On the following day, the 12-day Georgia tour explores several major historical destinations around central Georgia. You will visit Uplistsikhe Cave Town, continue to Gori and the Stalin Museum, and then travel to Mtskheta to see Jvari Monastery and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral before returning to Tbilisi.
The next two days are devoted to the Greater Caucasus. Traveling north along the Georgian Military Highway, you will stop at Zhinvali Water Reservoir, Ananuri Fortress and the Gudauri panoramic viewpoint before reaching Stepantsminda, also known as Kazbegi. After spending the night in Kazbegi, you will explore Dariali Gorge and the Dariali Monastery Complex and take a 4WD vehicle to Gergeti Trinity Church before returning to Tbilisi.
The route then turns west toward Chiatura and Kutaisi. Day 7 combines Mghvimevi Convent, the industrial landscape of Chiatura, a cable car ride and Katskhi Column before the journey continues to Kutaisi.
Days 8–10 take the 12-day Georgia tour deep into Svaneti. From Kutaisi, you travel past Enguri Dam to Mestia, the base for the mountain section of the itinerary. The following day includes the Tower of Love, Ushguli and Lamaria Church, with 4WD transportation from Mestia to Ushguli and back included.
On Day 10, the planned mountain excursion leads from Mestia to Koruldi Lakes by 4WD. Because this route depends on mountain weather, the itinerary includes an alternative program if conditions do not allow the Koruldi Lakes trip. The source itinerary lists Hatsvali Cable Car or Heshkili Huts as possible alternatives, while the Included section specifically confirms a Hatsvali Cable Car ride when substituted because of bad weather. The day ends with the journey back to Kutaisi.
The final full sightseeing day focuses on western Georgia’s natural attractions. You will visit Martvili Canyon and Prometheus Cave before returning to Tbilisi. Entrance fees are included at both sites, and the listed boat trips are included when weather conditions allow them to operate.
This 12-day Georgia tour offers one of the broadest itineraries in the program, combining city sightseeing, historical monuments, Kakheti wine experiences, Kazbegi, the mountain landscapes of Svaneti and natural attractions in western Georgia. The tour concludes on Day 12 with a private transfer from your hotel to Tbilisi International Airport.
Accommodation and meals are not included. The itinerary includes overnight stops in Kazbegi, Kutaisi and Mestia, but accommodation must be arranged separately.
