Live Like a Local in hidden Georgia 16 days

Tbilisi, Badiauri(bread/cheese/pickles), Bodbe, Sighnaghi, lunch and activities, Khareba winery (master classes of churchkhela), Telavi (overnight helping hostess masterclasses of food eggplant, Ojakhuri, and etc.) After mornings breakfast we will go towards wine region of Georgia stopping for bread baking masterclass (we will taste bread, several type of cheese and pickles). After this authentic village we will see Bodbe nunnery place where we buried St. Nino (lady that Christianized Georgia). In 5 minutes’, drive from nunnery, we will enjoy with walk in town of love “Sighnaghi”. where we will have master classes of Churchkhela (national sweet) making then we will drive in Telavi and overnight in Guesthouse along with helping out hostess to prepare, “Supra” for us at time of dinner.

Telavi market, Tsinandali, Alaverdi (yogurt and wine tasting), lunch (Zaza Qvevri making), KHEVSURETIAN HANDWORK MASTERCLASS, Telavi (overnight) dinner (Toast competition).
After breakfast we will drive to local farmers market in Telavi and go around the place to see what are the local productions. after which we will see Tsinandali Palace duke Chavchavadze’s home place who brought European way of wine making in Georgia. We will see insight of palace and taste locally made wine. Then we will drive to village Vardisubani and get introduced to technology of making Qvevri (clay vessels for wine fermentation) after excursion inside we will have lunch in local family and drive to see wine yard inside of Alaverdi cathedral enjoy with temple near which we will taste yogurt and try wine made by monks. Finally, we will reach Telavi and have toast competition at time of dinner.

New Shuamta, Jinvali, Ananuri, Pasanauri lunch (Khinkali masterclasses), Gudauri panorama, Kazbegi (overnight and dinner)
From the morning we will go to see Shuamta monastery in beautiful forest then we will reach water reservoir of Jinvali with amazing water color. After reservoir we will see Ananuri castle and continue to mountain village Pasanauri (optionally in local family or small mountain restaurant) where we will have lunch and Khinkali (local mountain dish) master class. After which passing ski resort Gudauri (2200m) we will see friendship monument of Georgia and Russia and overnight in Stephantsminda(1700m) in guesthouse with delicious dinner.

Dariali gorge, Gergety hike, lunch/picnic, “Felt” masterclass with jams, free evening, Kazbegi overnight (dinner).
From the morning we will drive to Dariali gorge and see Russian border, after which we will start hiking on Gergety Trinity Church locating on 2172m. this beautiful hike we show us amazing sounding of mountains and Mount. Kazbegi which is 5047m. after this hike we will come down and have, “Felt making” masterclass along which we will taste locally made jams. Free evening in Stephantsminda and lovely dinner in Guesthouse.

Jvari, Svetistskhoveli, Lunch, Samtavro, Tbilisi (overnight) dinner.
We will drive towards religious center of Georgia in former capital city Mtskheta and see U.N.E.S.C.O legacies (Jvari Monastery and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral) then we will have lunch and see Samtavro temple. Finally, we will reach capital city and overnight in hotel. Dinner in restaurant.

Dashbashi, Faravani lake, Foka monastery (local production shop degustation and lunch), local restaurant lunch, Vardzia overnight (dinner)
We will drive to Dashbashi canyon and see glass bridge over gorge, after which we will see ,,Foka Nunnery” where we will see historical temple and have degustation of locally made(cheese, jam, liqueur, dry fruit, bread, nuts), have some free time in the shop of Nunnery Shop. After which we will have late lunch in nearby village Gandza, and overnight in Vardzia in Guesthouse with dinner.

Vardzia, lunch activities (feeding rabbits and master classes of Meskhuri Qada, duck domplings.) lection about free topic overnight in Vardzia.
after breakfast will see one of the highlights of Tour “Vardzia” amazing Cave Town carved in limestone material. After Vardzia we will go back to guesthouse with amazing yard and have master classes of making local dishes, then we will help the host to feed the rabbits. We will have free evening with free topic lection explained by the guide and delicious dinner with overnight in a same guesthouse.

Rabati , lunch, Delicas on Goderdzi pass, Batumi overnight (dinner) In the morning we will reach ,,Rabati Castle” in Akhaltsikhe, we will see castle and museum with exhibits, after which we will have local family lunch and use 4 w/d cars to reach Batumi via Goderdzi pass in the evening we will accommodate in hotel and have dinner.

Free day /Optional Gonio fortress, botanical garden, lunch fish market, dinner Acharian wine house (museum). Overnight Batumi.
Free day in Batumi and dinner in Acharian wine house. Optional: we will see Gonio fortress connected to Kolkhetian mythology. After which we will see botanical garden of Batumi and have lunch at local fish market near the sea. Dinner in Acharian wine house.

Batumi, Zugdidi Dadiani palace, Lunch in Sisa tura (master classes of Megrelian dishes.) Enguri hepp, Mestia (overnight).
From Batumi we will reach Zugdidi and see Dadiani(Local Lords) palace then we will have lunch in local family type restaurant with master classes of Megrelian dishes. After which we will go towards Mestia stopping near biggest H.E.P.P of Transcaucasia Enguri. Finally reaching high elevation town Mestia (1400m) dinner and overnight in Guesthouse.

Mestia- Chalaadi , Khergiani museum, lunch (masterclass of Kubdari, Chvishtari), ethnographical museum, ,,Dede movie”, Mestia overnighting (dinner activities: milking cows and making cheese).
In the morning we will go towards Chalaadi glacier and hike via beautiful forest before reaching glacier. After hike we will see Khergiani museum to find out how Svans where living and what were their customs and traditions. After museum we will have local family lunch with Svanetian dish master classes After lunch we will have excursion in ethnographical museum of Mestia then we will see local movie “Dede” expressing women role in mountain people’s life. At time of dinner, we will milk cow and have master class of cheese making. Dinner and overnight in guesthouse Mestia.

Mestia, love tower, Ushguli, Lamaria, lunch, Fridon Nijaradze museum , overnight in Mestia dinner).
This day leads us to highest village of Europe Ushguli(2200m). on the road we will see tower of love with beautiful legend. Then we will see church Lamaria in Ushguli and have lunch in mountain restaurant. After that we will see painters Beso Nijaradze’s gallery and return back to Mestia to overnight. Dinner in the guesthouse.

Mestia, Zugdidi lunch Mendzeli, Prometheus grotto, overnight in Kutaisi (dinner)
Early in the morning we drive from Mestia to Zugdidi where we will have lunch, then drive to see Prometheus Grotto with 16 halls and colorful stalactites and stalagmites. Dinner and overnight in Kutaisi.

Kutaisi market, Uplistsikhe, lunch, Stalin’s museum, Tbilisi farewell dinner.
In the morning we will have free time to see local market in Kutaisi. And drive towards Uplistsikhe where we will see ancient cave complex. After excursion, we will have lunch nearby, then we will have tour in Stalin’s museum and reach Tbilisi overnight in hotel and farewell dinner in restaurant.
