Your adventure begins when a private driver and a tour guide pick you up from your hotel in Tbilisi.

Mghvimevi Convent is in a rock cave on the right bank of the river Kvirila. The monastery complex includes a two-nave basilica of the Savior, a small hall church, a bell tower, and a convent for nuns. The main temple is named after the Savior. The wooden iconostasis is entirely painted, and frescoes are on the church's wall. Unique engraved icons, a magnificent pattern of wood carving, and a vine door are preserved in the Georgian State Museum of Art funds.

It all began with the discovery of rich manganese deposits in the mountains, which residents had used as a natural dye for their clothes for ages. However, little did they know that this mineral resource would soon catapult their community into a city.In the late 19th century, as the mining and production of manganese started, Chiatura went through a remarkable transformation. Akaki Tsereteli, a famous Georgian writer and public figure, led the establishment of Chiatura City in 1879. This marked the birth of Chiatura as we know it today.
