The tour is best if one considers leaving busy cities and surroundings and escaping the
everyday routine that can be
tiresome. This trip offers one of the most beautiful parts of the country with its alpine
zone and picturesque mountain slopes. Trekking and hiking in these green and deserted
areas give you complete freedom. The central part of the trip is up in the north of Georgia
near the central Caucasus, just 12 kilometers farther from the Russian borderline, where
on every step, you can see shrines and temples on top of hills. Mountains above 4000-
5000 meters, Gorges with fast-flowing rivers, and wild nature with its true beauty.
In these mountain villages, you will get involved in everyday life, learn how to work on
foot, and prepare local mountain dishes—finishing the Kazbegi trekking tour with the
former capital city and religious legacy of Georgia and U.N.E.S.C.O.
Meeting point
Arrival. Transfer from the airport to the hotel accommodation. (3–4-star hotel in Tbilisi) Tbilisi walking tour After a little rest, we will explore the city, starting with the main attraction, Georgian dishes. After lunch, we will walk in ancient Tbilisi for 3-4 hours. We are strolling through the capital city's historical, religious, and architectural parts, going through multi-spiritual parts of town expressed with orthodox churches, synagogues, and mosques. Exploring 18-19 century houses with colorful wooden balconies and, along with architecture, discover Georgian Khammam ( spring waters explaining customs, traditions, and legends connected to the town.), after which we will give you an introduction to Georgian legacy brought together in the National museum. Free evening in Tbilisi after pleasant free time in town, we offer you Dinner accompanied by traditional Georgian dances.
Tbilisi, Kazbegi, Gergeti hike (gaining 500 meters, losing 500 meters) After the morning's energizing Breakfast, we will go towards the northern part of Georgia, passing the beautiful reservoir of Jinvali, a marvelous place to take beautiful pictures. Next, we will end up near the most well-preserved fortress with a beautiful church and spiritual insight, generally considered one of the best samples of Georgian churches backgrounded with a greenish color reservoir. After that, we will follow the Trunk Road through the white Aragvi, reaching an authentic lunch place. After the delicious break, we are going to Stepantsminda in this beautiful cultural place we will have, “Felt" one of the typical artwork master classes. Afterward, we will hike to Gergeti Trinity church, the highlight of the country and region church located at 2172 meters a.s.l. We will see a fantastic insight into religion and astonishing views. In the end, we will stay in this beautiful town and enjoy traditional Dinner.
Juta track (↑↓400m, 3-4 hours, 9km). Stepantsminda-Juta-Gveleti-Stepantsminda. After Breakfast, we will drive via several villages, reaching one of the highest-located villages, Juta. From 2150 above sea level, we start hiking on the mountain and follow the beautiful green path to the Chaukhebi mountain system Chaukhebi. Have a picnic near Tina Lake" (2550.) at the bottom of the mountains and return to the mount cafe and have a tea/coffee break. After relaxing, return to the car and drive to Gveleti waterfall. After a simple hike, we will reach a beautiful waterfall. Besides that, the area is full of wild nature where you can observe predator birds. (↑ 350m ↓140, 5-6 hours, 14km). After the morning's Breakfast, we will drive with 4wd to village Qvemo Oqroyana (2050), from where we are trekking to village Abano (2150), where we will see a beautiful nunnery near which we will have our picnic lunch. This beautiful track leading to the Georgian village offered a path of colors created with different mineral underground springs on the slopes of mountains, abandoned houses, and towns that present wild, untouched nature. (optional) On the way back, we will use the Kobi cable car that offers us beautiful scenery all around. 8:00 Breakfast in the hotel 9:00 departure 9:45 start hiking 16:35 Kobi cable car 17:00 back to the hotel (Kazbegi) 19:00 Dinner at the hotel.
(↑100m ↓850m, 5-6 hours, 15km) Stepantsminda -Gudauri-Khada gorge-Kvesheti-Tbilisi Drive to the Gudauri mosaic monument early in the morning and explore the history inscribed on this beautiful sculpture. Then drive to the starting point of track Gudauri (2200m) and enjoy a final hike tour going through the gorge, called the gorge of 60 towers "Khada" gorge offers beautiful tracks covered with grass, field flowers, and most importantly, alpine flowers. Trails covered with rhododendron azaleas passing riverside slopes colored with underground spring waters will become the main attraction of hikers in this place. Picnic lunch near the spring waters. Breakfast in the morning, after which we will go towards the middle of Georgia. With a little hike, we will explore the cave complex Uplistsikhe. Coming from the 2nd millennium B.C., a number of different periods of caves were brought together on the slope of a sandstone mountain. That tells us about the silk road and pagan, Christian customs connected to the place. After this beautiful historic place, we will walk up to the Gori fortress, one of the most giant maintained castles in the center of Town Gori. And we will see how old Georgians were defending themselves. After the productive first part of the day, we will have a local lunch in town that offers various Georgian dishes. The next stop will be the town of Mtskheta (the old capital city protected by UNESCO. U.N.E.S.C.O. fund, including the religious center of Georgia cathedral of Svetitskhoveli. Temple offers impressive reliefs and unusual frescoes. After these spiritual steps, we will go to the Jvari monastery complex on top of the mountain, presenting one of the inevitable views of the old capital city and the confluence of 2 rivers. 8:00 Breakfast 9:00 departure 10:40 Uplistsikhe 12:10 leaving 12:40 start Gori fortress hike. 13:25 lunch 15:00 leaving lunch 16:00 Mtskheta 17:25 Jvari 18:00 leaving Jvari 18:45-19:00 back to Tbilisi.
