This was our second trip with this organisation. Really nice young and energetic team with guides. We got lot of information about the sides, but also about Tblisi and Georgie. Thanks Nick and Natalie for this amazing experience!

Fantastic tour to some amazing locations! Our guide Niko was very knowledgeable and fun, and worked to make my teen daughter feel included in an otherwise adult tour group. The lunch at a local family’s house was great! A nice introduction to various important locations in Georgian history…definitely recommended.

Thank you George for this great tour.
Great historical explanations. Good time management and logistics to avoid the crowd and have the sites clear. The tour itself is amazing too. Ancient cave village, churches, museum of Staline many amazing views and historical facts all in one day.
I definitely recommend this travel agency and tour.

This is our third day in Georgia with same agency but different guide: Beka! He is a walking encyclopedia excited to tell everything he knows and he knows a lot! I highly recommend tours with them. It’s our third day with same agency but different awesome guides: Georges, Georges and Beka. They are very organized, having different nationalities in same group, friendly and very informative.

Scenic locations for perfect holiday pictures. Absolutely fantastic hospitality and detailed information provided on every aspect of the tour by our guide Beka from Gamarjoba tours. He ensured this trip is memorable be it knowing about the location, the comfort of every person on the tour and excellent hospitality. It was personalized with the lunch at a local family’s house in their garden. Truly taking back unforgettable memories of Georgia and Georgians. Highly recommend taking this tour with Gamarjoba!!

The most amazing tour guide in memory!
An unforgettable experience where you sample the best and worst of humanity (historically) in one fell swoop. Beka is a historian, economist, tour guide rolled into one. The tour group we were with was just fabulous company from all walks of life. Lunch location was no less spectacular. If you do one thing here, make this tour a must!

Normally I don’t like organized tours and I prefer travelling on my own, because most tours I’ve been to were practicaly just boring facts, but Beka made our tour super interesting! I especially liked the trip to Stalin’s museum and the interesting facts about his life. Thank you Beka for this amazing day and I highly reccommend this tour also to solo travelers:)

It was a great experience and the Group was full of energy. Much recommended to anyone wanting to see Uplistsikhe caves and scenic views along with the history of Georgia. Special thanks to Tiko, our guide. She is very friendly and gives special attention to each person. Great stuff

  14. Rated 5 out of 5

The tour as a whole was a top notch.
Just do it. Only minus was Stalin’s museum tour which lasted under 30 min. Even our guide was wondering why the tour was so short when it usually lasts over an 1 hour. Dinner at the family was superb as well. Thanks to our constantly smiling guide Tiko, she can sing too))

Two of us went on this trip as we had a few days in Tbilisi and wanted to visit a few must-see sites outside the city. A long, but well-paced and fairly leisurely day with a wonderfully friendly and extremely knowledgable guide (Keti) who could not have been more helpful. I would recommend this tour and tour company to anyone.

A great company and very knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. We are definitely coming back to Georgia in future and Gamarjoba will be our choice.

The tour was a very interesting, the restaurant was amazing, and the tour guide was fantastic (I had Tiko). Made some good friends on the trip and I would definitely do it again.

Our guide Tiko was amazing. She’s warm, hospitable and knowledgeable giving us all the history and insights to all the sights we visited. Even offered to help us take pictures for us travelling solo, and we stuck to schedule without feeling too rushed. Whole itinerary was eventful and had good amount of free time to spare and accommodated us when we needed toilet or drinks stops to ensure we are comfortable.
Stalin Museum was definitely worth going to see as well as the Svetitskhoveli cathedral. Fascinating views over Jvari Church and Uplistsikhe. All in all a great day trip with a small group tour which was super fun with Tiko showing you around!

It was very good tour. Tiko is very good guide. She was very knowledgeable, very patient with a smile. She didn’t push it through to finish the tour. She was very helpful. Even after the tour she helped people included myself. It made all the difference. Tour itself was very informative, educational and fun. I was in Tbilisi for three days and I took three tours with the same company. Beside Tiko, Sophie was very helpful even when I wasn’t take tour if I needed help she was there. Thanks everyone. Each one was good. Whenever I come back I will use your company and highly recommend.

We really enjoyed this tour. Each of the places we visited was interesting with an amazing history and beautiful Georgian landscapes. The tour is well planed, so everything went smooth. I would recommend this tour especially if you don’t have a lot of time to explore Georgia, since you’ll make the most use of your day and really learn and see a lot. Also, the lunch at Gori was really tasty and relaxing.

  23. Rated 5 out of 5

We had a wonderful time visiting several historical sites on this action packed day. Our tour guide, Tiko, was entertaining, insightful, and accommodating. It was a long, tiring, but great and fun day! We even had a little extra time at the end, so Tiko helped us arrange a boat trip in Mtskheta and even negotiated the price down for us.

One highlight of the day was lunch in Gori at a local family’s house. The hospitality was palpable. It felt like we were enjoying a meal with friends. Our host was delightful and excited to share a taste of the local culture with us.

Pre-Tour information by Sophia were super good. We felt well updated at any time.

Meeting point was easy to find and the guides were already waiting for us. The car was comfortable.

All sights were worth visiting. Stalin Museum depends on personal preferences.
The highlight was the lunch at a family. The place was super nice, we felt welcome from the first minute and the food was really good.

Our guide Tiko took well care of us. She made the trip a fun experience, gave really good background information to the sights and had a good time management.

After the trip Tiko gave us great restaurant suggestion and Sophia helped us the next day with planing another trip.
We can definitely recommend Gamarjoba Georgia Tours 🙂

If you are planning to spend some days in Tbilisi this trip is a must. Its a full day activity that will give you a flavour of the wonders nearby. Awesome views, a bit of history and culture, interaction with locals and also a fun time (good option for solo travellers to meet people).
We had the luck of having Tiko as our guide: approachable, friendly and super professional.
Intense day but totally worth it!!

This is a great way to see many different things in a short period of time. Great group, well organised and Beka was fantastic. He really went the extra mile to acquaint us with Georgia and its culture. Thanks again Beka!

All the attractions visited were interesting and valuable in its own. Mtskheta was the most interesting for me, with impressive architecture and beautiful frescoes.Food was excellent and very “terroire”. Our guide was among the best guides we encountered all over the world. Excellent command of English, vast culture and truly in love with his job. Very inventive using apps for group communication and information/photo distribution. A clear 10 out of 10 for Beko.

  30. Rated 5 out of 5

Tour guide Beka is energetic and fun. He’s very engaging, interacted with each and everyone of us. He’s very knowledgeable and on point, made the sights more interesting hence this tour is the best of all. Highly recommended!

Beka our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and interested in everything we visited and us his customers. A very enjoyable day, well paced and informative. Plenty of time at each stop and the time in the minibus seemed short because Beka entertained us with information about Georgia. I learnt a lot.

  32. Rated 5 out of 5

We had a great time on the tour. We loved the way it was planned and all the places we visited. It was an interesting initiation into all thing Georgian!! A huge thank you to Beka for making out tour, yesterday, awesome!!

  33. Rated 5 out of 5

We only planned on visiting Gori but realised it is much easier to take this trip – plus the lure of home cooked lunch sounded great- it was. The Jvari monastry is very special as was Mtsheta and the cathedral there. We would have missed these if not taken the trip. The caves and Gori were Ok but not the highlight. You have to take local guide in Stalin museum and she just sent everyone into a post lunch coma! However without a guide you would miss the inside of the train and house which are kept locked until guide unlocks. Recommend this tour!

  34. Rated 5 out of 5

The tour was absolutely fantastic, all the places we visited were breathtaking, and our guide, Keti was so friendly and knowledgeable!
Also, Baja, who manages the tours has been very helpful and answered all the questions we had prior to the tour.

I highly recommend this for anyone who stays in Tbilisi and wants to see a little more of the region, visit the old capital city, fabulous landscapes, and taste amazing Georgian cuisine in a family-run business, we felt very welcome! Thank you!

This trip wouldn’t have been this beautiful if it weren’t for Gamarjoba Georgia Tours, especially their very knowledgeable guides Katie and Meri who treated all tourists in our bus like family members, even gently reprimanding 🙂 occasionally. It was one of our most memorable trips that exceeded our expectations.

We’ve spent a great day in a very well organized tour going from Tbilisi to nearby destinations. The tour guides, Kathy & Mary, made sure that the whole trip was very insightful from the beginning to the end providing constantly facts and stories about Georgia and life in Georgia. Everything was very timely managed, there were no delays or misunderstandings. Very recommendable.

Well, where do we start !!!
First ,we got to appreciate the warm welcome with a Glass of Wine from each and every person who have come our way in organising the tour by Gamarjoba Georgia Tours.
We really enjoyed the casual friendship built over the last few days by the team led by Mr.George

Now we’d like to talk about our Guide (Katerina)
The young spirit she carries within herself made us explore more about Georgia and the astounding beauty of her country . Her laugh kept us going throughout our ur trip .Her knowledge about Georigia was something that we still remember and her efforts in showing us around priceless .
She was always on time ,she maintains the respect with us by giving us our own time wandering around the beautiful streets of Georgia.
She helped us around even talking to the local people of Georgia making us feel like one among them . She joked around with us ensuring that we weren’t feeling less enthusiastic. The conversations we shared with her felt so close like a family and that is why we wanted her throughout our tour .
She kept our energy levels up all the time by playing music no just her kind but also our kind of music .
Overall her honesty ,her humbleness and her acceptance of our culture as well made us realise that we will be back to GEORGIA again !!! Katerina you are no longer our guide you are Family to us .
This didn’t feel like a tour to us it felt more like Home for us because of her and the people here in Georgia.
We would also like to list out the people who made us feel more comfortable and as bigger family

George our first friend who reached out to us from the time we starting planning our visit to Georgia till the end and who also made sure we were having a good time in Georgia ,if we were safe and also he made sure he attended to all our travel needs .

Irakli, his welcoming on the day of our arrival was indeed pleasant his love for Bollywood music made us realise how accepting the people in Georgia are about diverse cultures

Sasha ,who always has a smile gave us the warmest feelings and who gave us the Georgian insights

David Julayivze his moral as a family man helped us know more about how people here with their families live and by whom we were very keen in his tatoo secrets which also he recommended us high end quality tattooing studio

George Chaeashvili who spoke to us about the economy of Georgia and it’s factors of growth was all so informative and also the interest he took in taking us to the best restaurants to taste their ethnic foods

George Datukashvili in specific we want to appreciate because he drove us around without any complains his personality as a Georgian still remains close to our heart ,all of them we want to acknowledge about how they kept their time for us just to make sure we are having a good time here in Georgia.

David Chadashvili his hippie attitude filled us the positive vibes on our trip and realising how ambitious he is as a person gave us the motive to be more challenging in life .

This is a fantastic tour! It is great value and combines history, culture and a drive through the lovely Georgian countryside. Lunch is in a family’s garden, so much nicer than a restaurant and not expensive. It is a full day out, and great value. Giorgi our guide was five star! The whole day was very well organised.

Great tour of the region by our amazing guide David! We got to see so much and really further got in touch with the amazing Georgian culture and their long history.

An interesting and well organized tour! Comfortable transport, Katie an excellent guide. What more can you ask for? Food and culture and good wine, good timing in every detail. But the importance of a good guide is crucial. Katie has it all : Entertaining, knowledgeable, flexible – totally coherent. And – interested of her guests. A trip with her as your guide is always a hit!

This is a one day tour that takes you to some interesting and beautiful parts of Georgia that are not too far from Tbilisi. The cave-town of Uplistsikhe was a good place to start. We got a good work out walking up the sloped ruins and enjoying the views. A highlight was the lunch stop in a family-run place in Gori, where we enjoyed some delicious khachapuri (pizza’s Georgian cousin) and grilled pork in a terrace with a veranda. The owner is very nice and showed us the living space he is working on, with memorabilia and the remains of a 2008 bomb from the war with Russia. He also shared some stories from that unfortunate period.

Next was Gori, its main highlight being the Stalin museum. It makes for an unusual visit. We waited for the guide to show us around, since the museum labels are in Georgian and Russian exclusively, and her input definitely enhanced the experience. After that, we went to the beautiful Jvari monastery, remarkably well preserved after one and a half millennia, and set against a beautiful landscape and views of the city of Mtskheta. Then we came down to the city itself, which is small but charming, and has a marvellous cathedral. After that, it was back to Tbilisi.

The tour was very entertaining, and along all the stops you’ll be following the course of the Mtkvari river, which offers lovely views. Our tour guide was Giorgi. He is great at his job. His English is perfect, his explanations worthy, and his energy remarkable. He was happy to share his young man’s views on the country and respond to any questions we had. Having him made the tour a lot more enjoyable for us, and I am sure it will for you too. Do not miss it.

We went on a tour to Uplistsikhe, Jvari Gori and Mtskheta. Uplistsikhe is very interesting and has a lot of history discovered and not yet. Go there first to beat the crowds. In Gori the tour company took us to Stalin museum which I would skip if you are not a big fan of him. There is Gori Fortress that we learned about way later. The view of Mtskheta from the church is very beautiful. It’s a nice full day trip discovering Georgia.

We spent an excellent day learning about Georgian history. This is a great opportunity to see some amazing sights, incredible views and to learn a lot. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly and this was a great way to see several sights out of Tbilisi.

  50. Rated 5 out of 5

Such a fantastic day out to see the wonderful sights of gorgeous Georgia. Most importantly were our excellent guides Beka and Ila, who made it a truly unforgettable day out. We stopped at the Uplistsikhe caves which were fascinating and very cool. We got such a good history lesson today for their lovely country and it’s past over the years. Our guide was super knowledgeable. We also got to visit the Svetitskhoveli cathedral and the Jvari church, interesting UNESCO sites again steeped with history from the country’s past. The Stalin museum also a good stop to get another part of the history. We had a very special lunch in a local family, Kera was the perfect host and his food and homemade wine was delicious. Highly recommend this tour if you are in Tbilisi.

  51. Rated 5 out of 5

Did the tour today with beka and Ika. Brilliant combination of knowledge passion and humour. We learned alot, laughed alot and loved the day. Georgeous sights and plenty of time at each stop. We had lunch hosted by the amazing Kera which was traditional Georgian food and homemade wine in a quaint home setting complete with some Chacha of course.
The tour itself is an incredible line up of ancient Georgian sights and history outside of the city. Beka and Ika filled the day with information and gave us a great insight to Georgian life, both past and present

    Highly recommended

Just a week in Tbilisi, so I wanted to see as much as possible. A day trip is always a good idea and I was more than lucky to have Katie for a guide. Visited amazing places with such a history, learned many interesting stories, legends and facts. Thank you, Katie for the great day! Travelers, do not hesitate, just go on a tour, so many destinations and all of them are worthy your time!

The Agency wrote us where we will meet. We got checked in at the meeting point, where you get free water, and waited for a few minutes. Soon we hopped in our bus with some other guys. Katie, our guide, welcomed us in the bus and gave us some basic informations about the tour. On the way to the first stop, the cave city, we got a lot of interesting informations about the country, the culture and georgian wine. We even learned some georgian words. The cave city was very interesting to see, including a great view over Georgia. After that we drove to a house, where we got homemade georgian food and wine/lemonade, which was absolutely fine. The Stalin museum was nice to see for me, if you are not interested in Stalin or Soviet union, you should take a walk through the city of gory. From the following church you have a great view over georgian landscape. At the end of the day it was a great experience, with a lot of informations about everything and a lot of fun with our guide (and if you want a lot of wine). So if you want to learn about georgian history and culture, AND want to have a some fun, that’s the way to go. Even though our guide said she will kill me with a spoon if I don’t write a good review.

The Agency is very professional, providing all the details needed even speaking with us late in the night, thank you George. The tour itself was amazing and we were very lucky yo have Katerina as guide, helping us understanding the Georgian history and also their lifestyle, we laughed a lot, and for us the most important was the connection we established with her, so many thanks Katerina for making this experience so amazing. Highly recommended, do not hesitate.

This is my second tour with gamarjoba, and it was an all around 5 stars experience as far as am concerned.
Starting with my contact person Lana, who was very welcoming and helpful. She even made sure to check up on our group regularly via texts to make sure that everything is going well and that we have no complaints/problems.
The tour guide, Catherine was lovely, very energetic, and really livened up the tour.she provided us with info at each site, as well commentary on various thing along the way, while making sure that we still have plenty of time to check every place out and explore a bit and take photos.
the first stop was the Cavetown which was, in a word, incredible. the sights there are unreal.
We had lunch at a small, lovely family restaurant along the way before heading out to the Stalin museum (my least favourite part of the tour, but only out of personal preferences, you can opt out and just tour the surrounding area instead), after that we went to the monastery, where the view is, again, picturesque, followed by a short walk in the Old capital mtskheta to the church and the surrounding area , where you’ll be tempted to get your body’s weight in souvenirs.
All in all, this was a great experience, definitely recommend anyone coming here to try this tour.

This tour lasts around 9 hours but is so much fun and very interesting. Our guide was fantastic, making sure we were happy and providing a great service. She was informative and explained everying in good English and was happy to answer any questions you may have had, as well as offering recommendations of where to go in Tbilisi. The tour went to Uplistsikhe, to see the cave monasteries and then on to Gori, firstly for lunch and then either a visit to the Stalin museum, or you could use this time for yourself to stroll around the city. It was then off to the stunning Jvari monastery, with the most spectacular views from the top, across the river valley. We ended the day with a visit to Mtsskheta, arriving back in Tbilisi around 7pm. Definitely a day out to add to your ‘to do’ list.

  61. Rated 5 out of 5

This tour is focused around the history of Georgia, our guide Beka was very knowledgeable about each stop (and places we passed on the road too!) and was able to comprehensively explain and answer all questions posed by the group. Unfortunately we were unable to go inside the cathedral in Mtskheta due to a festival on the day but this didn’t detract from the day at all and Beka made sure everyone still had a great time. Would recommend!

We had an amazing trip with David! He was very fun, friendly and helpful. The dinner at a local Georgian family was a great experience. Incredible food and hospitality!

I got picked up at my hotel and taken to the leaving point. Our guide Tiko was very patient and answered all questions I had during the tour. She was helped by Gvanca, a future guide to be, who was very helpful during the entire trip.
For Upllistsikhe prepare comfy non slippery shoes. We ha lunch in a very hipster terrace and I really liked the cultural details related to the monasteries and churches.

Of all the tours I’ve taken with any company in any country, this tour ranks among the best. The booking and check-in process was handled professionally and efficiently with the tour starting exactly on time. Our guide, Giorgi (of the young and bearded variety since we learned the name is ubiquitous in Georgia and at this company), was energetic, informative, and made every effort to make everyone feel included. It was a small group of 7 strangers and Giorgi helped facilitate a perfectly paced day that everyone enjoyed. In fact, the majority of the group decided to join each other for dinner and wine even after the tour concluded. The sights were amazing, the lunch was delightfully one of a kind, and we shared many laughs. Great tour, great tour guide, and great experience overall.

We had a great tour with the curly boy, DAVID to Uplistsikhe caves . It was absolutely an alternative experience with that guy !
He is an entertainer with great sense of humour and really good heart . The whole group gets in his mood and that was the reason why we travelled like we were all friends !
Thank you for everything David .
    See you in Greece
